My Life Under the Loupe.

I got invited to exhibit in a typical old Dutch windmill at Artfestival Heusden. The theme of the festival was “Head”, so I showed my portraits from the collection ‘Portrait of a Lady and a Few Good Men’ and made an additional self portrait with my life under the loupe.

The self portrait is made out of marble, metal, wood and a glass loupe, with handmade slides filled with memories of things that define my way of thinking and experiences that made me who I am today. The visitors got see the world through my eyes, by placing the slides in the iris of my eye and then project them into the world with a flashlight.

Materials: marble, steel, glass and wood.

85 x 50 x 12 cm

Currently on view at Gallery ‘What is Happening Here”.

During my bunker exhibition in June ‘22, I showed the visitors the world through my eyes.

In this video I’m telling the background stories behind the magnetic slides in the eye of my self portrait, projecting the images with a flash light.

‘Every celebration is worth it.’

What would you like to celebrate?
